How to get there ?

Ride a taxi going to North Bus Terminal and upon arriving to the terminal ride a Bus which is a Memeei bus because its only bus who will go directly to Tabuelan , Maravillosa Park. For the fare , the minimum is 120 and for a student its 100 pesos only. They also have the time schedule of the Bus. It took 3 hours and a half to get there in the area. But guarantee the worth hours sitting in bus when we arrive at the destination.

Where to stay / overnight stay ?

No worries , the Maravillosa Park is no entrance fee for a moment. You can either bring your own tent which you need to pay for the space for only 200 pesos and if you don’t have tent then you can rent for 350 pesos and rent a kubo or a room. For the Kubo its 1300 for overnight stay and the pillows , blanket and mattress are already provided , for the room its 2200 which is an air-conditioned room as well a complete things for your overnight stay . It’s a perfect place to witness the sun rise and suns set.

Aside from visiting known and famous places specially churches we think directly to Santo Nino, Magellan Cross or other known churches here in Philippines particularly in Cebu but their is more than what we usually know. Worshiping God is not base on the how beauty of the place look likes. It is on the heart of the people where we can see the true beauty.

The Elites visit the Adoration Convent of Divine Peace located at A.S Fortuna Banilad , Mandaue City in front A Plus Coffee. It a walking distance from foodland Caltex gasoline station. We visit this place to see another beauty of our churches here in Cebu. Some people call it as a home of the Pink Sisters because the monk / nuns wearing pink. Many people go there for a prayer petitions.

The church has its wide parking space as many people go there with their own car which is a well maintained place. It is just a plain and simple chapel but perfect place to visit with. It has it air-cool as it surrounded by trees.

Sustaining is an ability that a human can give. Many of us wants to have a peaceful , nice , neat and a clean environment. Enable us to achieve those wants, we must start it first with ourselves. We are the ones who destroying our environment and killing wildlife animals which living their own life just like what human beings do. Taking care of it a must as trees gave us oxygen to breath and other animals gave us unmeasurable friendship that human beings can’t give.

The Elites visit Eco-Tourism destination which is located at Sitio Ylaya Talamban, Mandaue City Cebu. How to get there ? Just ride a 13c jeep going to tintay and drop off at Skina Ylaya . Once you arrive you can just definitely walk as place is very near but if your new to the place you can ask for a motorcycle or habalhabal to lead the way going to Archival Eco-House. 15 pesos fair per pax which is not costly at all unlike other destinations. The entrance fee is 25 pesos per pax and the place is very accessible. It has started in December 2007. Archival Eco House shows a lot of beautiful things such as plants , animals and even vegetables. All of those have been taking cared properly to preserve and still continue to embrace mother natures beauty.It inspires people to see the importance of the environment and animals. The people who took care of the place ensure that they can still make it possible as sustaining the area as the same time. They grow a lot of seedling trees in the farm to plant. You can also see a house which made up of recycled materials. The place seems like that they make some adjustments or changes because they have some construction materials.

The place is definitely deserves a lot of attention for they have been helping mother nature since 2005. They are an inspiration , we should also follow their foot steps so that our environment won’t be in danger but rather still blooming and beautiful. It’s is overwhelming that our generation can still the give sustainable environment that a future generation can witness. Our generation has a lot of negative comments that is some facts and some are not. So as early as we can make changes , sustaining the beauty of our environment is one of our biggest success that we can contribute the world and to the environment specifically. As we observe the place need some attention as they have small numbers of animals showcases. The care they provide in the farm is very good and they maintain the cleanliness and they entertain us as we go enter to their premises.

The mother nature provide the needs that we want. The Philippines is known for its rich of Agricultural resources so must we own it and live it longer. We love to do things that we usually do. Having new experiences can add up our knowledge and also gain new information and fun. For the new experience attraction that we’re going to go is at Villa Salida Movie Camp. It is located at Upper Mabolo 2 Lower Tac an, Budlaan , Cebu City. It’s a roof top camp with a big wide screen monitor at front for the movies that you like request with.

Once you arrive in the area you’ll see a house that has rooftop above and in that rooftop that’s where the tents are located and a large projector so that we can watch movies. You can bring foods and drinks from outsides. They have foods in the area but we suggested that bringing outside is much better.

They have what they call Barkada set and also for lovers set.

For barkada set , 2 person is for 75 pesos only and add 50 pesos for additional person so it’s very affordable. For lovers is 99 pesos only. 99 pesos as well per movie and if you like to request for another movie then you should pay additional 99 pesos again. For you to arrive at the area SKINA SUNNY HILLS VILLAGE TALAMBAN CEBU CITY near Gaisano Grand Mall then ride motorcycle (habalhabal) to Mabolo Dos. Its only 30 pesos fair good for 2 pax but if you’re the only one riding the habal2 it is still 30 pesos still. They also provide a picture print for you to hang it inside the tent and as a souvenir in your saty. It’s just only 45 pesos for all of your pics.

They have this active Facebook Page which is Villa Salida Movie Camp that they post their daily announcement on how many tents are available , promos and more. If you’re interested in the area you can message them, in their Facebook page and contact them using the number they provided in their Facebook accounts.

We The Elites also have our own critique about the area.

The location or area is just near and the transportation is not that expensive like other destination is. At first , I really thought that it would like a rooftop in mountainous area but its not. Im a bit disappointed but as we stay there as longer my disappointment turn into so much fun. The view is very interesting and you can have friends in your neighboring tents. Over all , it’s a great stay and a great experience .

What I can say is that we enjoy our first tour for our new experience , and also what I like there because you can be able to choose the movie that you like to watch which is they have many options. Even it is not typically the camp that I expected it’s still good and fun because the owner is well mannered and serve their guest in good way.

I did not expect what was there. I thought it would be a mountain but it’s just a rooftop. But the vibes was very nice, you have privacy because your on your individual tents. If you’re with your bakada then they can provide you a bigger tent which perfect for the barkadas to stay with.

Over all the place was not quite as what we expected but definitely it gave us the camping vibes in the mountain. We would recommend this place to people that we know and also we would coming there soon.

The area and transportation is very accessible and near. Even though its not what we expected it’s gave us a camping vibes and fun specially if we are with our love one or barkada.

It’s really good to experience other things. It’s like going out in your comfort zone and try other things that you think you don’t like but end up loving it. We really recommend this place if you want to experience a rooftop camp with a hospitable owner. Making new temporary friends in just a simple way of staying in the Villa Salida Movie Camp. What are you waiting for ? Try this new destination with your barkada and with your love one.

FEATURE STORY

The most awaited events that every students of University of Cebu- Banilad Campus can’t wait to witness. The University of Cebu- Banilad held the Intramurals 2019 in September 3 to 7 , 2019. It is the most exciting events that happen in the campus because it can made every students forget temporarily their paper works , upcoming examinations , quizes , reports , problems and many more. It allowed the students , the staff , the faculty , the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university to unwind and just experience fun and enjoyment for short span of time.

Intramurals showcasing not just the most highlight opening of confetti war but also it enhances , boost or showcase the students capabilities to represent their fields or courses. Each department competing their cultural activities , sports and many more. The Intramurals covers Mr. and Ms. Intramurals , Opening of Booth in every departments , Basketball Games , Chess , Dama , Badminton , Table Tennis , Scrabble , Soduko , Volley Ball , Pa-staran , Singing ( Solo and Duet ) , dancing , Pinoy games and at end of everything is the Victory Party for all he students of UC-Banilad. As time goes on and on , the Intramurals of University of Cebu became known and famous nationwide. Where it’s on the point that it became featured in television news and newspapers.

At the end of everything , the Intramurals give us impact and still remains in every students memories. This the moment where we can say that despite of stress and sleepless nights doing our school works . The school ( University ) won’t let us just experience that.

EDITORIAL PAGE

Every year there’s an event in University of Cebu-Banilad Campus that makes the University famous and unique which is the Intramurals. I believe that this program aim to provide opportunities to the students for leadership and creativity, teamwork, fellowship and physical exercises while participating in the various areas of competitions.

The colorful Intramurals 2018 that i’ve witnessed for the first time in my life was very overwhelming. One thing that made UC-B unique in terms of this kind of event was the confetti wars it is the most highlight in all activities but the remaining days of the intrams was still fun. But this year’s Intramurals 2019 is a breath taking for me even if this was not my first celebrating intramurals in UC-B . I enjoyed the most interesting part of the events which is the PASTARAN. That was an spectacular part of the event because it has shown the talents and being artistic of every contestants. The intramurals was good. Different events were held and the players showed sportsmanship and kinship which was, I think, was very good. Different talents were showcased as well, especially in the opening and closing.

Now I realized that there’s only one thing you shouldn’t miss in UC to experience aside from giving a quality education is also the beauty of their Intramurals. Thanks to UC Banilad for giving us the enjoyable and memorable Intramurals. Hopefully next year also! We are looking forward for it, so exciting! It only proves that school has also the time for FUN.

Intramurals is the most awaited celebration in the University of Cebu for it show cases a lot of activities that will enhance and get the student to come out from their shell so that they can show what they’ve got.

In my opinion Intramurals is indeed an amazing event in the University of Cebu.. \Why? It is simply because I am also a student in University of Cebu and everything happening in Intramurals is remarkable for I myself was able to witnessed the different showcases like the throwing of “Confetti’s, Pastaran, Sports, Singing and Dancing. I have seen all of those and all I can say is that “I am happy that I’m a part of this amazing school” .

Lastly, I hope that intramurals will still be amazing in the next school year. May the new and old students continue joining what they love and continue to be an inspiration to other students to come out from their shell and just do what you truly love for there is nothing wrong if you try.

REVIEWS

The intramurals 2k19 of University of Cebu – Banilad campus is still the most trending intramurals in Cebu and possibly nation wide.

The intramurals was a great experience for the students in each department. Because they have a chance to showcase their talents and what they have worked for. The freshmen had a blast on their first intramurals. The Junior High School also had a chance to show their talents and they had fun playing with the confetti. I talk to some of the Junior High and while we were playing chess and I said that “how was your first intramurals.”and he said that “it was fun because I talked to my crush and she said good luck to me”.

Overall the students and the teachers had fun during the intramurals. It was indeed a great experience and everyone is looking forward to the intramurals next year.

The intramurals celebration or event is a very amazing that gives or showing individuals idea what is intramurals about and what they showcase on the first day, why it’s always trend online and it just trend international recently.

Intramurals this year 2019 is very nice and it was amazing, we are still freshmen and it’s our first time to watch the confetti war or as what they called blowing up the confetti here in UC Banilad, I could say that it’s very impressive I cannot even believe that I’ve already seen it in person, each department Blowing up their confetti from the 8 floor to the quadrangle to start the first program in UC banilad.

This events has been reach out from the international just because of the raining colors of confetti in UC banilad, the intramurals become the number the # 1 trends world wide last year it was very impressive we did not expecting that because we only think about having fun and celebrating the intramurals in school last year, so recently just this year the school receive a messages from the people live outside of the country that they are going to visit the school for the intramurals here in UC banilad just to watch the colorful confetti in school.

In this blog , we will be showcasing why the Philippines , particularly Cebu is a best choice to travel with. Beside from a being hospitable person filipino is we are also rich in tourist attraction and destination . This place is the Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino is one the best choice that every traveler love to visit.

It’s not just foreigners or travelers are interested in this place , Filipino as well. Lot of Filipino go there to pray , light their candles and of course to see its unfading beauty of Santo Nino.

The Magellan Cross is also in the area. It is known as a landmark of Cebu which the behind it is very interesting specially for those who love to know the history of the past. It is planted by the Portuguese and Spanish explorer which is ordered by Magellan upon arriving in Cebu , Philipines.

These foods or delicacies are worth checking out on your trip to the Queen City of the South, Cebu City. It is very normal to the Filipinos who bring pasalubong or souvenirs when they travel.

Here in Cebu , we have a unique different kind of delicacies that can be enjoyed by locals and foreigners as well. To name a few famous delicacies in Cebu that everyone loves to taste is HOPIA , CHICHARON , PINTUS , BUD-BOD , BINGKA , PUTO , KUTCHINTA , SUMAN OTAP , MASI AND DRIED MANGOES. So keep on reading for more information on how it is made of , price and where you can buy it.

First is Hopia which is one of the favorite delicacies of every filipinos because of its delight taste. Its a bean filled moon-cake. It has a different Flavors like mango , monggo , ube and chocolate. The usual price is 5 pesos each.

Second is Chicharon which is famous for its crack on every bite. Chicharon came from different flavor , it could be chicken , beef , fish , or pork skin which is my favorite one. Usual price is 20 to 250 pesos per pack.

Pintus is made of ground corn , cheese and coconut strips and wrapped with corn husk. Usual price is 10 pesos each.

Budbod is wrapped with banana leaf. This is best is best serve with hot coffee during snacks or breakfast. Usual price is 10 – 25 pesos for 3 pcs.

Bingka is a traditional delicacy. It is made of milled glutinious rice , coconut milk , margarine and sugar then steamed on hot pot using banana leaf. It is made of cassava. Usual price is 7 – 15 pesos each.

Puto can be made into two types. The Puto which made of flour and made of sticky rice or pilit in bisaya and sometime filled with cheese at the top of it to add taste. Usual Price is 5 – 15 pesos each.

Kutchinta is my favorite one because of its mild sweet glutinous texture which is made of flour, topioca flour , atsuete powder , dark brown sugar and grated coconut for toppings. Usual Price is 3 – 5 pesos each .

Suman is made up of grated cassava , coconut milk and sugar. It is also wrapped with banana leaves like bud-bod. Usual Price is 8 – 10 pesos each.

Otap is very fragile as easy to break with you bite it. It is oval shaped puff. Usual Price is 30 – 50 pesos per pack.

Masi is one my favorite. It has a cute size and it is made of glutinous rice with sweet peanut on inside. Usual Price is 5 – 10 each.

Dried Mangoes are ripe mangoes that mere dried under the sun. It has a chewy texture and a sweet taste make it so much addictive. Usual Price is 70 – 150 each per pack.

We only name few but theirs more to it that surely make you crave once you’ll taste. The question is where to buy them all ? Everything mentioned above can easily find everywhere in Cebu. They can also be found at the department or supermarket , outside the church , terminal store or bus stop and even along the highway where bus or your car passes by.

Every delicacy has its own history on why it exist and why most Filipino loves it. The names maybe find strange for others but only names are strange not the taste. Other countries have expensive foods to buy that is delicious as well with expensive ingredients but here in the Philippines particularly Cebu, its affordable and delicious specially when it served by hospitable filipinos.
